There are still some black currants left to be picked in the common area next to the gate. Pretty dang good for jam, muffins, scones.... don't let them go to waste.
Results from the Dogs in Garden survey overwhelmingly decided to prohibit dogs from entering the fenced area of the garden. Temporary signs were posted at the gates letting people know of this decision. Someone decided to vandalize the signs by tearing them off. This is vandalism of garden property and will not be tolerated. The paper signs have been replaced and a volunteer has come forward to paint permanent wooden signs. These signs will fit better with the organic look of the garden.
The common plot at the east end of the garden is where our raspberries grow. These raspberries are of the ever-bearing variety. As there is no specific time to harvest these raspberries, garden members are welcome to nibble on them from time to time during the growing season. Please make sure you leave enough for other gardeners to enjoy.
Recently the members of the Community Garden were polled regarding whether or not dogs should be permitted inside the fenced area of the garden. The results are posted below. With a large number of gardeners taking part in the survey the decision was clearly to restrict dogs from entering the fenced garden area.
The Blackcurrants in the common area along the front fence are ready for picking. Garden members may bring a bowl and take their share of the berries.
